At long last, the City of Edinburgh Council have appointed a contractor to remove the Leylandii trees on the WGHC estate boundary.
These works may affect some WGHC tenants living in:
- Granton Mill Drive
- Granton Mill Crescent
- Granton Mains Gait
- Granton Mains Vale
- Granton Mains Brae
The Contractor will place their machinery and undertake most of the works from outwith the boundary of our estate, i.e. within the drying greens of West Pilton Drive area. However, there may be occasions whereupon they ask for cars to be moved to ensure safety. There will be noise (chain saws and chipping machines) and there will be sawdust!
WGHC will send letters nearer the time to those tenants who might be asked to move their cars by the contractor.
Equally, there may be times whereupon the contractor asks to access a WGHC garden to remove bits of branches etc. – the Contractors will be wearing liveried uniform and working on behalf of TD Trees. The works are starting on Monday 04th November 2024 and will last for approximately 3 weeks. The works will usually start at 09.00hrs and complete by 16.30hrs.
There should be no weekend working, unless, there is a need to make a tree safe due to adverse weather forecast conditions, i.e. a storm or heavy winds. If you have any questions about the works, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us at the office, 0131 551 5035.
