‘Goody Bags’ for WGHC tenants
West Granton Housing Co-operative has worked in partnership with Prospect Community HA, Lister HC, Viewpoint HA and Manor Estates HA (all in the ARCHIE alliance) to source funding from the Scottish Government from its Community Recovery Fund. The overall bid comprised a mix of different supplies of practical energy conservation items, tablets to assist with digital access, and debt advice work in partnership with CHAI in Edinburgh.
The primary bid was submitted by staff from Prospect CHA who then worked hard to translate the funding into supplies and service arrangements. WGHC’s “bid” was for a ‘Goody Bag’ of energy conservation items for 50 tenants – a 13w LED light bulb, a radiator reflective panel, a fabric ‘sausage dog’ draught excluder for a door, an ‘auto off’ countdown power timer and a sheet of energy advice tips and one of welfare, money debt advice and agency contacts. Pictured here are the WGHC staff with their filled bags, in readiness for distribution to our tenants.
WGHC CEO Larke Adger says: “Many thanks to the Scottish Government for their wonderful support, and to our Archie Alliance partners, especially, Prospect CHA, for working together on this important project that will be of great benefit to our tenants.”
WGHC Committee of Management have decided that 35 of the ‘goody bags’ should be given to tenants identified by the office team as having a particular need. The remaining balance of 15 will now be given to tenants on a “first come, first served” basis. Accordingly, please feel free to come along to the office to collect a bag (wear a mask, please) and bring proof of tenancy.
Remember, once they’re gone…………………… they’re gone!!
